Fake videos falsely attributed to well-known foreign media outlets
russian Telegram channels are circulating a series of videos styled to resemble content from prominent Western media, including Euronews, Gallup, and The Economist.
All of these videos promote a single narrative: that assistance to Ukraine allegedly destroys the European economy, forces businesses to shut down, and drives young people to vote for leaving the EU.
In reality, no such materials appear on the official platforms of these outlets. The videos were produced by russian propagandists who exploited the recognizable visual identity of reputable media to lend credibility to false narratives.
The aim is to undermine support for Ukraine among European audiences, sow distrust toward the EU and Western institutions, and shift responsibility for economic difficulties caused by russian aggression onto assistance to Ukraine.
Previously, the Center reported on a wave of similar videos aimed at discrediting Ukrainian refugees.
