Propaganda at the UN: russia spreads lies about the events in Bucha
russia is once again using the UN General Assembly as a platform to spread its own disinformation and justify war crimes against Ukraine.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly, russian foreign minister sergey lavrov handed UN Secretary-General António Guterres and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi brochures and a pseudo-report on the «falsification of events in Bucha».
The document was prepared by the kremlin’s pocket «public tribunal», which has no international or legal status. The content of the materials handed over is yet another collection of cynical fakes: russia calls the mass killings of civilians in Kyiv region a «bloody staging» and declares the peaceful residents killed by russians to be «eliminated military personnel» or «people who died of illnesses».
The kremlin deliberately uses high-level diplomatic meetings and prominent international institutions to make its propaganda look like an «official document» and an «alternative position».
Through such manipulations, moscow is trying to undermine the evidence base of russian army crimes in Ukraine and sow doubts among foreign diplomats in order to avoid responsibility.
