Key points from Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s interview with WSJ
Statements by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Wall Street Journal:
▫️ The cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure should cover all critical infrastructure: electricity, oil, diesel, gas, and water supply.
▫️ If russia attacks our energy and civilian infrastructure, Ukraine is forced to strike at its vulnerable points, as russians do not respect weakness and understand only strength.
▫️ The situation on the battlefield is not successful for putin: he is not winning, but because he is indifferent to human losses, he does not yet feel that he must stop the war.
▫️ Donald Trump wants to act as a mediator and bring the leaders of Ukraine and russia to the negotiating table, but finding a compromise is difficult because russia is not ready for it and demands that Ukraine surrender its territories.
▫️ To get through the winter, we need U.S. technologies and a “winter package,” including missiles for Patriot systems — right now.
▫️ One of the best systems is Patriot, but Ukraine is developing its own, cheaper anti-ballistic system, Freyja, and hopes to test it at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
