Information about “NABU searches at the former head of the Defense Procurement Agency” is fake
A video is circulating online allegedly showing procedural actions by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) at the former head of the Defense Procurement Agency. The video deliberately focuses on boxes of cash and provocative labels.
According to NABU, no such searches or procedural measures were carried out by anti-corruption authorities. The video is a completely AI-generated fake.
▫️ The original source of the video was a fake website created by russians that imitates the popular Ukrainian online media outlet NV. The outlet’s editorial team confirmed that the perpetrators copied the website’s design to spread the fake news.
▫️ The use of cloned websites is a typical method of the russian disinformation campaign Doppelgänger (“Double”), in which the enemy creates copies of reputable sources to make fabricated stories appear authentic. The fake video is being actively circulated by russian information resources.
