russia turns schools into military training centers
The kremlin is actively militarizing school education, effectively introducing a full-scale “basic military training course” in educational institutions.
▫️ The russian government has approved a list of training equipment for the mandatory subject “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland.” This list includes mock-ups of small arms, hand grenades and grenade launchers, first-aid equipment for treating combat injuries, and other items. In addition, during these classes children will be taught how to assemble drones and operate them.
Despite declarations of readiness for diplomacy and a desire for peace, the kremlin is in fact accelerating the militarization of society, starting with schools and kindergartens. Alongside ideological indoctrination through propaganda, the russian authorities are forcibly introducing military training for children, while simultaneously restricting graduates’ opportunities to obtain higher education.
The kremlin is preparing for a prolonged war with the West and is therefore militarizing society on a comprehensive scale, turning the education system into a mechanism for training future soldiers.
