Fake about recruiting “mercenaries” to fight for Ukraine
Pro-kremlin outlets spread statements by russian mfa spokesperson maria zakharova, claiming that citizens of the Philippines are being recruited to fight against Ukraine with a salary of $5,000. The recruitment is allegedly organized by the U.S.
In reality, this is a fake, as confirmed by the Ukrainian MFA. They noted that Ukraine and the Philippines maintain strong and dynamic bilateral relations based on mutual respect, trust, and adherence to international law.
Previously, russian propagandists spread similar fakes about alleged recruitment in South Korea, Syria, and the Ivory Coast, indicating the systematic nature of this disinformation campaign.
