Clickbait on tragedy: AI fakes about victims of the russian missile strike in Kyiv
russian propaganda has revived a long-standing disinformation campaign about “secret NATO biolaboratories” in Ukraine.
▫️ This time, the occupiers’ proxy governor of Kherson region, volodymyr saldo, made an absurd claim alleging that Kherson residents supposedly already knew in 2011 about the operation of a “secret NATO micro-laboratory” based at a local sanitary and epidemiological station.
▫️ The kremlin has systematically promoted this conspiracy myth since 2014. However, russia has never been able to provide any real evidence or facts supporting the existence of these so-called “NATO laboratories.” Instead, propagandists simply repurpose legitimate civilian medical and epidemiological institutions that operated transparently in Ukraine for their information manipulations.
The objective is clear — through such fabricated narratives, the aggressor state attempts to justify its war against Ukraine. The propaganda seeks to instill fear of imaginary “threats” among local populations in order to later portray its destructive presence on Ukrainian territory as a form of “salvation.”
