russian propaganda has launched a disinformation campaign in an attempt to shift responsibility for the deaths of 24 people caused by a missile strike on a residential building in Kyiv on May 14.
▫️ Enemy resources acted according to a now-classic scenario, massively spreading fake claims that the destruction of the apartment building was allegedly “the result of Ukrainian air defense activity.” However, some propagandists went even further in their cynicism, claiming that the tragedy in the capital was a “staged performance” allegedly organized by Ukraine itself.
▫️ Claims circulated in russian Telegram channels alleging that Ukraine had supposedly “mined and blown up the building itself for the sake of media coverage” are outright absurd. While the enemy invents baseless theories, Ukrainian investigators and experts at the strike site are systematically documenting the crime and collecting evidence. According to preliminary data, the residential building in Kyiv was struck by a russian Kh-101 missile.
Full responsibility for the deaths of civilians in Kyiv and the destruction of civilian infrastructure lies solely with the russian federation. No cynical justifications, absurd theories, or information manipulations will help the aggressor conceal yet another war crime against humanity.
