Hostile propaganda is spreading fake reports about the alleged number of “foreign mercenaries of the AFU” killed in russia’s kursk region. Propagandists claim that since the summer of 2024, 4,781 soldiers from Poland, Georgia, Colombia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and Japan have allegedly died in kursk. They emphasize that most of the so-called “foreign casualties” were Polish citizens.
▫️The alleged source of this so-called data is a German online platform that specializes in collecting and visualizing statistical information.
In reality, the company has conducted no such research. None of the materials promoted by ru-propagandists can be found on its website or official social media pages.
The goal of such fakes is to justify russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and to promote the narrative that “the whole world is at war with russia.”
With this disinformation, ru-propaganda is trying to explain to its own population why the war against Ukraine — an adversary with a significantly smaller army has lasted for over three years.This disinformation is also aimed at fueling anti-war sentiment in European countries and increasing pressure on the governments that support Ukraine.
