TikTok removed pro-putin influence network in Czech Republic
TikTok has blocked a large network of accounts that was promoting kremlin narratives and interfering in the internal affairs of the Czech Republic.
Hundreds of accounts coordinated to spread disinformation aimed at undermining support for Ukraine and stoking hostility within Czech society. In particular, AI was used to create emotional videos that appeared to be “opinions of ordinary people.”
In addition to information influence, such networks are often used by russian intelligence agencies to identify financially vulnerable individuals. Under the guise of “easy money” offers, people are lured into carrying out minor provocations or acts of sabotage.
One of the tools of this campaign was redirecting the audience to wagner group Telegram channels, where recruitment took place, and users were asked to provide financial support for the russian army. kremlin continues to invest millions of dollars in creating bot farms designed to destabilize European countries.
The Center previously reported that russia systematically uses social media to recruit agents in EU countries.
