The Center has detected the spread of pro-russian narratives in the Czech information space through a number of outlets affiliated with russian propaganda.
▫️ In particular, these outlets promote claims that strikes deep inside russia allegedly “worsen Ukraine’s strategic position and provoke further escalation of the conflict,” and that “the only thing Ukraine and its partners have achieved is making Ukraine’s tragic fate even worse,” among other narratives.
The outlets spreading these narratives are predominantly far-right in ideology and belong to the segment of quasi-media and information platforms that independent Czech research organizations systematically classify as sources of disinformation and pro-kremlin propaganda.
By using such outlets, the kremlin seeks to influence public opinion in the Czech Republic, fuel hatred toward Ukrainians in the country, and undermine support for aid to Ukraine.
