The Center has recorded a wave of fake reports, stylized as content from international media outlets, aimed at discrediting Ukrainians in Europe.
▫️ This time, hostile Telegram channels are spreading absurd videos using the logos of international media (EuroNews, Libe), claiming that “French citizens have suffered from unlawful actions by Ukrainians.” One video alleges that 30 French women were attacked with acid, with 11 cases supposedly involving Ukrainian women. Another claims that French journalists were beaten and robbed in Kyiv.
▫️ No such materials exist on the official platforms of the mentioned media outlets. The use of fabricated reports with the logos of international media and institutions is a typical method of the russian disinformation network “Matryoshka,” which systematically produces fakes to discredit Ukrainian citizens in the eyes of the global community.
Through such disinformation, propagandists aim to create an image of Ukrainians as a “problematic” or dangerous group. The goal of russian propaganda is to undermine trust in Ukrainian refugees and reduce support for Ukraine within European societies.
