Hybrid attacks against Europe: russian hacker arrested in Poland
A russian citizen was arrested in Poland on suspicion of hacking IT systems of several Polish companies. According to Polish law enforcement, the hacker attempted to gain access to corporate databases — a key target in most russian cyber operations.

▫️Polish authorities link most attacks to pro-russian groups. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Havkowski, stated directly: “Poland is in a state of hybrid war with russia.”
▫️Despite a record €1 billion cybersecurity budget, Poland faces internal vulnerabilities — outdated software and a shortage of specialists. Meanwhile, NATO, even with sufficient resources, largely maintains a passive defense. russian hackers exploit this to intensify attacks, testing Europe’s cyber resilience.
This situation calls for a proactive NATO approach to russian actions in cyberspace — updating outdated rules, strengthening cyber defense structures, and allocating additional resources.
