On October 6, the Lviv Book Forum hosted an event dedicated to combating disinformation. One of the speakers at the forum was Andriy Shapovalov, Acting Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, a working body of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The discussion explored the potential for legal liability for russian propagandists, as well as deepened knowledge of the true cost of words.
Andriy Shapovalov shared practical cases of combating russian fakes and their dissemination in the global media. He also spoke about countering infoterrorism and shared his plans for the future of the Center, which seeks to equate information terrorism with ordinary terrorism.
Andriy Shapovalov also noted that it is extremely important to raise the level of information hygiene and media literacy of every citizen of the contemporary world, because propaganda does not sleep and comes up with new steps for improvement every day.
