The Center and Cyber Unit Technologies, with the support of EUAM Ukraine, held a media literacy training in Lviv
On September 11, Deputy Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Alina Alieksieieva and Senior Analyst at the Center’s Department for Countering Information Threats to National Security Vasyl Slychko took part in «Regional Information Resilience Lab» training on countering hostile information influence and interference in Lviv.
▫️ A. Alieksieieva told the participants about the basics of fact-checking, algorithms for responding to information threats to reduce their negative impact on society, and the use of stories and visual content to communicate the truth.
▫️ The Deputy Head of the Center also provided information about the CCD’s activities aimed at countering information manipulation and interference.
▫️The Center’s representatives stressed the importance of promptly identifying information threats and coordinated interagency efforts to counter destructive influence, including proactive measures that make it possible to respond to such threats in a timely manner and counter them effectively.
▫️ The practical part of the training involved simulating real hybrid campaigns and practising response algorithms for information threats and crisis situations through the educational games «Operation: InfoUnit», developed by CCD staff.
▫️ Representatives of state authorities and local self-government bodies in Lviv region working in the field of countering destructive information influence acquired skills in identifying and responding to hybrid threats and countering them.
The event was organised by the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM / КМЄС) with the participation of the CCD and colleagues from Cyber Unit Technologies. Among the participants were Oleksandr Kulepin, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation (CDTO), Andrii Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv, and EUAM representatives: Rudite Bilsena, Head of the National Security Component; Ion Kust, Head of the Hybrid Threats Unit; and Maksym Budakov, National Security Adviser.
