russian propaganda continues its disinformation campaign promoting the long-standing myth about “secret American biolaboratories” in Ukraine.
▫️ Another round of absurd claims was voiced to propaganda media by so-called “military expert” igor nikulin. He alleged the existence of a network of “closed laboratories modernized by the Pentagon,” where pathogens of tuberculosis were supposedly “artificially enhanced” near Donbas.
▫️ This statement is part of a long-running conspiracy campaign that the kremlin has promoted since 2014. However, throughout all these years, russia has failed to provide any evidence of the existence of “secret biolaboratories” or the development of “biological weapons” in Ukraine. Propagandists systematically invent frightening narratives around ordinary Ukrainian research and sanitary-epidemiological institutions.
Through this prolonged disinformation campaign, the aggressor state seeks to justify its war against Ukraine. The propaganda aims to create the illusion of a threat allegedly coming from Ukraine in order to portray the war as a “preventive strike.”
