Russia spreads new fakes about alleged “atrocities” of the AFU
russian propaganda has intensified a campaign to discredit Ukrainian military forces, spreading another series of fakes about alleged “inhumane tactics” and “abuse of civilians.”
pro-kremlin media published “testimonies” from russian soldiers claiming that the AFU “loot and burn houses” of residents in Yablunivka, Donetsk region. Misinformation also spreads that during their retreat Ukrainian troops allegedly “booby-trap the bodies of dead civilians and their own fighters.”
These claims are false. They are based solely on comments from russian soldiers, with no evidence or independent sources.
With such fakes, russia attempts to hide and justify its own war crimes and to weaken trust in the AFU among Ukrainian society and the international audience.
