Russia intimidates Eastern Europe with false claims about “Ukrainian terrorists”
Russian propaganda is actively spreading claims about a supposed “Ukrainian trace” in the accident on the Druzhba oil pipeline in Poland and the potential for a terrorist attack on sections of this pipeline in Slovakia and Hungary.
▪️ Propaganda sources refer to publications from a Hungarian outlet, often cited by Russian media, and statements from Slovak law enforcement officials about the possibility of terrorist attacks.
▪️ These reports from Russian sources are blatantly manipulative. It has not been proven that the leak in the oil pipeline in Poland was caused by a terrorist attack, nor has there been any evidence of a planned terrorist attack in Slovakia.
The spread of such manipulations in Eastern Europe currently benefits the Kremlin, which aims to provoke a rift between Ukraine and its neighboring countries. The objective is to undermine Ukraine’s European integration and complicate military support for Ukraine from the EU and NATO.
