How ru-propagandists are expanding their network in the Middle East
The Arabic-language version of Russia’s propaganda outlet RT has signed cooperation agreements with the Emirati media outlet Al-Ittihad, the TRENDS research center, and Al-Ain University. The agreements aim to involve local students in RT’s operations.
▪️ RT has previously signed similar agreements with Egypt’s Sada El-Balad TV channel, Bahrain’s Al-Watan newspaper, and Jordan’s Petra news agency.
Restricted in most Western countries, RT uses its substantial funding from the Russian government to partner with local media in Arab countries, spreading Kremlin propaganda narratives and expanding Russian influence in the region.
