Russia deploys troops in southern Belarus, making the United States and the European Union “nervous”

The military equipment and units of the russian Armed Forces arriving in Belarus as part of joint military exercises (from February 10 to 20) are gradually being deployed in the southern part of Belarus, i.e., north of the Ukrainian border. This has raised concerns in society about the security situation in Kharkiv.

However, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov received overwhelming support on social media, saying that the city would remain Ukrainian and calm, and “let the russians keep their mouths shut.”

According to some military experts, a full-scale invasion of Ukraine is unlikely in the near future. From a military point of view, this is justified by the fact that today russian troops in Belarus are not grouped into strike groups and are not targeting any specific areas for offensive operations. In addition, the decision to launch a military invasion is currently being held back by the strong reaction of the United States and the West.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who is currently considering a trilateral alliance between Britain, Poland, and Ukraine, confirmed her serious support for Kyiv. The UK Geostrategic Council’s Twitter account features a geopolitical map showing a triple axis between London, Warsaw, and Kyiv. Russia and Belarus are marked as hostile territories. Liz Truss also confirmed the information about the work on the creation of a triple alliance during her speech at the Lowy Institute, as reported by the official website of the British government.

Today, the UK has begun supplying Ukraine with weapons – NLAW anti-tank systems.

Another 80 tons of weapons from the United States have also arrived in Ukraine. This is the second installment of military aid from the United States, which has allocated $200 million in additional security assistance to Ukraine. According to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, this is not only a $60 million defense package that Ukraine received in December, but also additional equipment and defensive weapons, including lethal weapons.

In an interview with Radio Liberty’s “Donbas. Realities” project, Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk said that Estonia would send Javelin anti-tank missile systems made in the United States to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

And US President Joe Biden clarified his ambiguous statement about russia’s “small” invasion of Ukraine, explaining that any crossing of the Ukrainian border by russia would be considered an invasion, and russia would “pay a high price for it.” White House spokesperson Jen Psaki confirmed J. Biden’s words on Fox News.
