russian propaganda is spreading a false claim that Ukrainian forces are allegedly placing weapons and ammunition depots on the ground floors of multi-storey residential buildings in Kramatorsk and other cities in the Donetsk region.
▫️ According to the enemy’s propagandists, Ukrainian troops are allegedly preventing civilians from evacuating in order to use them as “human shields.”
These claims have nothing to do with reality. They may indicate that russia is preparing for provocations or new attacks on civilian targets in Kramatorsk. This is a typical example of the enemy using an information alibi tactic — by preemptively accusing Ukraine of actions it may commit itself, russia attempts to justify its crimes.
By creating stories about “ammunition depots in apartment buildings,” russia is also trying to shift the blame for its systematic attacks on civilian infrastructure in frontline cities.
