While russian propaganda has spent years inventing fake stories about the «protection of russian speakers», «denazification» and other fabricated pretexts to justify armed aggression, a representative of putin’s administration has decided to speak openly.
First, kobyakov described Ukraine’s demographic crisis in the bleakest terms and cynically claimed that «only russia can save the country from depopulation» by relocating part of its population to Ukrainian lands.
This statement is not simply speculation about the future. russia is already actively implementing this demographic engineering in the temporarily occupied territories. In cities destroyed by russia, including Mariupol, the occupiers are massively building mortgage housing for citizens arriving from russia. At the same time, local residents have been waiting for years for at least some compensation for homes destroyed by the russian army, or are losing their property altogether because the occupiers have declared it «ownerless».
