New scam scheme on Telegram involving video messages
Scammers hack users’ accounts and then create fake videos using the victim’s face, in which they supposedly ask for money personally. These video “bubbles” are then sent to the account owner’s friends or relatives.
If you receive such a video, call the person or write to them via another messenger. Make sure they actually sent the message.
Earlier, the Center reported a wave of scams on Telegram disguised as “gifts” with cash prizes.
