How Russia justifies its unwillingness to end war with fakes about atrocities of Ukrainian mіlitary
Russian propaganda has intensified the spread of fakes about the events in the Kursk region and uses them to justify the prolongation of the war. In particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Ukrainian military “killed almost all the men” in the village of Mykolaevo-Dariine in Kursk region. As “proof” they use the words of people allegedly evacuated from this village.
▫️ Russian propagandists are actively spreading and commenting on this outright fake, presenting it as an argument against negotiations with Ukraine. They are trying to portray Russia as a victim, not an aggressor, to increase hatred of Ukraine among Russians and divert attention from their own war crimes.
The enemy seeks to create the perception that negotiations with Ukraine are “impossible” and that continuation of the war is a “necessity.” In reality, however, Kyiv has consistently demonstrated its readiness for dialogue.
Earlier, the Center reported that Russian officials, including Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova, joined the Kremlin’s disinformation campaign about “atrocities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.”
