How russia Is Rewriting Children’s National Identity in TOT
In the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, russia has launched another propaganda project for children called “pervoistochnik”.
One of the organizers is the paramilitary children’s group “movement of the first”. The project includes lectures and workshops presenting topics such as “preserving historical memory” and “fighting the falsification of the past.”
To give weight to the propaganda, russia invited kremlin-loyal “experts.” Despite the declared goal of “combating historical falsification,” these events systematically distort history.
A notable detail: organizers stated they would discuss “family legacy” and “the place of the child’s family in russian history.” In practice, Ukrainian children in Zaporizhzhia are being encouraged to trace their “russian history.” In this way, russia seeks to impose a russian identity on children in the occupied territories.
This event is just one example of how, after militarily seizing territory, russia occupies children’s minds through pseudo-educational projects and manipulative “historical” lessons.
