The level of serious crime in russia has sharply increased. According to the russian ministry of internal affairs, in the first 10 months of 2025, organized criminal groups committed 44,000 serious crimes — a 33.6% increase compared to last year.
◽️ Judicial statistics confirm the trend: over the three years of the war, the number of people convicted for organizing criminal groups has nearly quadrupled, while those participating in such groups has doubled.
◽️ The main reason is the return of fighters from the front for whom the war became a way to avoid punishment. The kremlin turned the war into a social elevator for criminals: signing a contract with the ministry of defense allows individuals to erase previous convictions or avoid responsibility during investigations. Returning to civilian life, they no longer fear breaking the law, knowing the state will forgive them as long as they served in the military.
In this way, putin’s war undermines russian society from within. The normalization of violence and the public “forgiveness” of serious crimes make russia increasingly dangerous — even for its own citizens.
