Fake about preparations to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine

Reports are circulating online claiming that Ukraine is allegedly preparing to lower the mobilization age and to mobilize students.

As “evidence”, these claims refer to alleged announcements about the “updating of military registration data” scheduled between december 22 and 30 at one of Ukraine’s colleges.

In reality, as of today, no decisions have been made — nor are any being prepared — to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine. Such statements have no factual basis whatsoever.

Regarding the published “announcement” purportedly issued on behalf of an agricultural college, the Center has found no such notice on the institution’s official website or on its verified social media accounts.

This indicates a likely forgery or manipulative use of the educational institution’s visual identity.

The spread of such messages is part of a disinformation campaign aimed at fueling fear, destabilizing public sentiment, and discrediting state institutions.

The goal of these fake narratives is to provoke panic among students and parents and to undermine trust in decisions made by the Ukrainian authorities.
