The Center records the spread of a russian fake on the Internet that the Ukrainian leadership is allegedly “preparing a large-scale terrorist act against its own population in order to blame russia.”
This insert is accompanied by a video clip stylized under the corporate style of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). However, in fact, there is no such material on the official resources of the analytical center, the video is a fake.
The goal of this campaign is to shift responsibility for war crimes to Ukraine itself in advance, against the backdrop of russia’s massive terrorist attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, which lead to the destruction of civilian infrastructure and casualties among civilians, and to divert attention from the actions of the russian army.
Creating fake videos using the logos of well-known foreign institutions or media is a classic method of operation of the russian disinformation network “matryoshka”, whose inserts the Center has repeatedly refuted.
