russia is once again lying about “chemical terrorist attacks in Ukraine”
russia has intensified a disinformation campaign accusing Ukraine of using chemical weapons.
russian permanent representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, vladimir tarabrin, claimed that Ukraine, with the help of its allies, “continues to develop its covert military-chemical program,” “prepares provocations involving the use of chemical weapons,” and so on.
russia has repeatedly made similar baseless accusations, none of which have ever been confirmed. Meanwhile, international observers have documented cases of chemical weapons use by russia, which has led to international sanctions.
The spread of such disinformation is part of moscow’s propaganda tactics aimed at internationally discrediting Ukraine. These are attempts to undermine international support for Ukraine and divert attention from the war crimes of the russian army.
