ru-propaganda continues to discredit Ukrainian refugees
The center records the continuation of a wave of discrediting Ukrainian refugees through fake videos purportedly from Western media.
On social networks, fabricated “news” styled like Euronews and Le Figaro are spreading, with claims about an alleged “pension crisis in the EU due to expenses on Ukrainian refugees” and “sensational crimes by Ukrainians in Europe.” The creators of these fakes use hate speech, invented statistics, and “shocking” stories to provoke an emotional reaction.
In reality, such materials are absent from the official resources of Euronews and Le Figaro. No law enforcement agencies or reputable European media have confirmed the described events or “sociological data.” This is a typical tactic of russian propaganda: imitating the style of well-known publications to lend credibility to their lies.
The goal of these fakes is to discredit Ukrainian refugees, incite xenophobia in EU countries, and undermine support for Ukraine by portraying aid to Ukrainians as a “threat” to the welfare of Europeans.
