putin has once again confirmed that he does not truly seek peace
russian dictator vladimir putin made a series of statements once again confirming that he rejects any peace proposals, and his rhetoric about being ready to negotiate is nothing more than an attempt to buy time.
▫️ According to putin, he is supposedly ready for contacts with Ukraine but “sees no point in them,” since “it will be impossible to agree.” As for a leaders’ meeting, putin rejected any venue other than moscow — an obviously unacceptable proposal.
▫️ Moreover, putin continued to intimidate Ukraine’s allies by threatening that he would consider any foreign troops on Ukrainian territory as “legitimate targets for destruction,” while once again repeating propaganda clichés about a “coup d’état” and “threats to russia’s security.”
putin keeps stalling by putting forward deliberately unacceptable conditions for negotiations, but he hardly hides anymore that he has no intention of reaching any agreements.
Sanctions and pressure on russia must be intensified.
