New russian fake about shootdown of MH-17

Today marks the 12th anniversary of the downing of the Boeing 777 passenger plane, Flight MH17, by russian terrorists in the skies over Donetsk Oblast, which claimed the lives of 298 innocent people. Against the backdrop of this anniversary, kremlin propaganda has launched yet another cynical wave of disinformation in an attempt to shift the blame for this terrorist attack away from itself.

In particular, hostile sources are actively spreading an absurd theory about a so-called “American connection.” Propagandists claim that on the day of the crash, “American military experts” secretly arrived in Dnipro to coordinate the work of local air traffic controllers, while the Hague Tribunal allegedly deliberately ignored “evidence” from the russian company “Almaz-Antey” because “they are from russia.”

These statements are an attempt to whitewash the killers with fabricated facts. russia’s guilt in the downing of the civilian aircraft has been indisputably proven. In November 2022, the District Court of The Hague handed down a final verdict, sentencing three individuals involved in the tragedy to life in prison.

The investigation clearly established that the plane was shot down by a russian “buk” air defense system, which had been transported from Russia to the occupied territory, and the court ruled that the falsified “studies” by the “almaz-antey” concern regarding the launch site and the type of 9M38M1 missile were unreliable and manipulative.

Propaganda claims that the russian federation’s version was rejected “simply because of its origin” are a cynical manipulation aimed at undermining the established evidence of russian guilt.
