New fake image targeting Ukrainians in Poland
As part of a campaign to discredit Ukrainians in Poland, russian propagandists have spread another fake.
▫️ An AI-generated image of a sign allegedly spotted in a taxi in Warsaw is circulating online. It reads: “You can speak Ukrainian on foot,” implying that Ukrainians are not welcome in Poland.
▫️ In reality, this is a fake generated using AI tools. An analysis of the image with specialized software for detecting forgeries and fake content confirmed this.
Various anti-Ukrainian disinformation pieces created using AI have recently become increasingly common in the Polish information space. The Center previously reported on similar cases. It also recently debunked a fake about an alleged “crime committed by a Ukrainian minor” in Poland.
russian propagandists deliberately use such manipulations to distort public opinion and artificially fuel tensions in Ukrainian-Polish relations.
