Main theses of Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Sweden
The main theses from the joint meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson with the media:
▫️Ukraine is grateful to Sweden for its determination and principled stance in matters of protecting Ukrainian lives, sanctioning pressure on russia, and supporting European integration.
▫️Ukraine will receive a new $2.7 billion support package from Sweden, including $400 million for drone production and $2 billion for aircraft.
▫️Sweden will provide Ukraine with a squadron of Gripen combat aircraft. Ukraine expects to receive the aircraft over the next 10 months, along with trained pilots for them.
▫️The Gripen aircraft will help push back russian aircraft carrying air-to-ground missiles from the front line and save lives.
▫️Ukraine will gradually purchase all 150 Gripen aircraft that were agreed upon last year.
▫️Ukrainian Pariliament has approved a decision for a two-year European support package. From this package, we are allocating $2.5 billion for the purchase of 22 Swedish Gripen aircraft.
▫️Ukraine’s priority today is protection against ballistic missiles. We need more missiles for Patriot.
▫️Ukraine aims to obtain licenses for the production of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot to meet its own demand for missiles and assist those who need them.
▫️Ukraine and Europe are working on the creation of anti-ballistic systems. Ukraine will work in the NB8 format with the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
▫️Ukraine has agreements with France and Germany on future deliveries of air defense systems.
