Key points from the press conference of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
▫️ On Saturday and Sunday, there’ll be an exchange of prisoners of war. russia’s ready to exchange 500 soldiers, but Ukraine hasn’t gotten the lists yet.
▫️ Ukraine has not yet received a response regarding the ceasefire memorandum proposed to the USA and russia.
▫️ The ceasefire document from the russian side is an ultimatum – neither the Ukrainian side nor its partners will take it seriously.
▫️ Turkish President Erdogan proposed a four-party meeting with his participation, as well as the Presidents of Ukraine, the USA, and russia. The Ukrainian side is ready for such a meeting at any time.
▫️ Ukraine offers russia a ceasefire until the leaders meet. Such a meeting could take place in Istanbul, the Vatican, Switzerland, or another location of russia’s choosing.
▫️ Half of the 41 russian aircraft that were damaged during the “Spiderweb” operation cannot be restored.
▫️ All russia wants in the negotiations is to demonstrate artificial diplomacy to delay the imposition of US sanctions, which it fears.
▫️ russia’s ultimatum demands contradict the UN Charter, common sense, and Ukraine’s Constitution. They were prepared by people who lack the proper knowledge of international law and Ukrainian legislation.
▫️ russia has destroyed and continues to destroy regions in eastern Ukraine, where people mostly speak russian.
▫️russia is pulling the wool over our eyes and “talking about peace,” attempting to show that Ukraine does not want peace, in order to force the USA to exit the negotiations and leave Russia alone with Ukraine.
