Intensification of the campaign about “atrocities of the AFU in Donbas”
russian propaganda has intensified its disinformation campaign about the alleged “atrocities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces” in Donbas.
▫️russian resources are spreading “testimonies” from supposed local residents, claiming fabricated crimes by Ukrainian soldiers. For example, they allege that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “shot a dog in the center of the city” or “attempted to poison the water in a well.” As usual, such accusations are not supported by any evidence and are based solely on the words of the protagonists in propaganda stories.
▫️At the same time, recordings appear with comments from russian soldiers, stating that russia is “forced to shell residential areas” because, allegedly, Ukrainian soldiers are hiding there. In this way, the enemy seeks to shift the blame for the widespread destruction in the combat zone onto Ukraine.
These provocations are part of the information support for military operations. kremlin uses disinformation as a tool of terror and pressure on Ukrainians. russia is trying to intimidate the population of frontline regions, reduce support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and impose the idea that russian occupation will be “salvation.”
