▫️ Pro-kremlin resources are widely circulating a video featuring what is claimed to be a Ukrainian prisoner of war alleging that Ukrainian servicemen “abused children, filmed it, and then burned the bodies.”
▫️ As is typically the case, the russian side provides no evidence whatsoever to support these claims, relying solely on the alleged “confession” of a person being held in enemy captivity.
▫️ It is important to remember that statements made by prisoners of war cannot be considered objective or reliable sources of information. Individuals held under the enemy’s complete control are often forced to give statements under coercion and the threat of torture. The very use of prisoners of war in propaganda videos constitutes a direct violation of international humanitarian law.
