Image of marauder: exhibition about ‘stolen’ Scythian gold has opened in russia
The kremlin has launched another propaganda campaign, attempting to discredit the international court’s decision to transfer the ‘Scythian gold’ to Ukraine. A special exhibition on this matter was presented in moscow.
The posters falsely accuse Ukraine of ‘stealing’ artefacts, even though they were transferred to Kyiv in accordance with a court decision in the Netherlands, which recognized the collection as a state part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine.
The russian foreign ministry joined in promoting the exhibition, and representatives of the ‘russian military-historical society’ stated that these monuments are ‘the heritage of every russian person’. Lacking legal arguments, the kremlin resorted to cheap manipulation: the exhibition was supplemented with quotes from the Bible about the inadmissibility of theft. Thus, the occupiers are trying to appeal to emotions and stigmatize the legitimate court decision as a ‘sin’.
This exhibition is another manifestation of the kremlin’s hysteria, which still cannot accept the fact that European justice has prevented russia from robbing Ukraine once again.
