Center and the EUAM conducted information and educational event to enhance media literacy

Alina Alekseeva, Deputy Head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation, took part in a training session on countering hostile information influence and interference, organised by the ‘Regional Information Resilience Lab’ in Zhytomyr. The event was organised by the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM) in collaboration with the Centre for Countering Disinformation.

A. Alekseeva spoke to the training participants about the basics of fact-checking, strategies for responding to information threats with the aim of minimising their negative impact on society, the use of stories and visual content to convey the truth, and the preparation of coordinated inter-agency countermeasures and proactive measures.

The Deputy Head of the Centre also provided an update on the Centre’s activities to counter information manipulation and interference.

Representatives of state and local government bodies in the Zhytomyr region, who are active in the field of countering destructive information influences, acquired skills in identifying and responding to hybrid threats.
