Fake about “Polish school trips to the Bandera Museum”
A fake is circulating in the Polish segment of social media claiming that the Polish Ministry of National Education is allegedly organizing summer school trips to Ukraine for students, including visits to the Stepan Bandera Museum.
▫️ As “evidence,” the authors of the fake present screenshots of an email supposedly sent by the Polish ministry at the request of the Ukrainian Embassy. The posts claim that the Polish government is “Bandera-izing” children and that the trip allegedly proves there is “no war in Ukraine,” according to Polish fact-checkers from the Demagog Association.
In reality, the email is falsified. The Polish Ministry of National Education has officially denied this information. It stated that malicious actors forged the name of a deputy director of the communications department and used a standard free email service, which the ministry does not use for official correspondence.
The purpose of this disinformation campaign is to discredit Ukraine and provoke anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Polish society.
Previously, the Center also reported a fake regarding alleged Polish spending on support for Ukraine in 2022–2026.
