Key points from the speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the opening of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan:

▫️We are grateful to Armenia for its hospitality and the excellent organization of the summit. Ukraine wishes Armenia and Azerbaijan lasting peace.

▫️This is the first time in 24 years that a Ukrainian President has visited Armenia. This summit symbolizes the shared values of Canada and the European Community.

▫️The war in Iran must be resolved, as it affects long-term stability. This war could increase the cost of living in every country and trigger political upheavals.

▫️This summer will be the moment when putin decides what to do next—expand the war or turn to diplomatic channels. We must push him toward diplomacy.

▫️For the first time in many years, there will be no military equipment at the May 9 parade in moscow—they cannot afford it. The Russians are no longer as strong as they once were.

▫️Ukraine is grateful to the EU for the 20th sanctions package, as the sanctions target russian banks, the “shadow fleet,” and industry. Any talk of lifting sanctions is unacceptable.

▫️We are grateful for PURL contributions, as they help defend our skies.

▫️Ukraine is capable of beginning to produce air defense systems. Ukraine seeks to establish an exchange of experience and technology for shared security.

▫️Europe must be at every negotiating table to develop a common European voice in talks with the russians.
