russia’s Hybrid Warfare: Denmark Urges Stronger EU Cooperation

The head of Denmark’s Security and Intelligence Service (PET), Finn Borch Andersen, has called on European states to deepen cooperation amid russia’s escalating hybrid war.

▫️According to him, russia is behind a series of attacks across European countries and is conducting a systematic hybrid campaign against the entire EU. Therefore, the response to these threats must be coordinated.

▫️Denmark is one of NATO’s key member states, as it controls access points to the Baltic Sea and possesses strategically important Greenland with access to the Arctic. This makes Denmark one of the primary targets of russia’s hybrid operations, as moscow seeks to influence the Alliance’s logistics and defense connections.

▫️Recently, the country suffered large-scale cyberattacks. State systems, municipalities, and defense companies came under attack, with the pro-russian group NoName057 claiming responsibility.

russia’s actions aim to undermine political stability, split the EU, and weaken support for Ukraine. russian hybrid aggression has effectively turned into a pan-European front — one that can be contained only through a united response. This is a matter of security for the entire European continent.
