russian propaganda is spreading statements by the so-called “special envoy of the russian foreign ministry,” rodion miroshnik, about alleged “Ukrainian terrorism” against russian civilians. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine “carry out 3,500 strikes per week on civilian targets in russia.”
▫️ Such claims are blatantly cynical — especially against the backdrop of russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which have caused long-term power outages across the country.
▫️ This is a typical propaganda tactic used by russia to shift responsibility for its aggression against Ukraine and to create a false image of itself as a “victim.”
By accusing Ukraine of “crimes against civilians,” russia is trying to justify its own terror against the civilian population of our country — the destruction of power plants and the shelling of residential areas, hospitals, and schools.
