Fake about an “ungrateful Ukrainian woman with a humanitarian aid package”
A fake video is spreading on Polish social media, allegedly showing a Ukrainian woman complaining about the quality of Polish humanitarian aid from an international charity. In the clip, a voice claims she is upset that the food package does not include “Italian pasta and shrimp.”
The video is fake. Manipulators took a real video and replaced the original audio. In the authentic version, posted online several months ago, the woman actually thanks for the assistance and says she was impressed by the quantity and variety of the food.
The fake clip, urging to “stop supporting Ukrainians,” was shared by Polish social media pages that regularly spread anti-Ukrainian messages. Such accounts — knowingly or unknowingly — act in russia’s interests, fueling hostility and hatred toward Ukrainians.
russia is systematically trying to provoke interethnic conflicts in countries hosting large numbers of Ukrainian refugees. These disinformation campaigns are being carried out not only in Poland but across the EU. They all follow the same pattern — spreading fake stories about “aggressive,” “ungrateful,” or “privileged” Ukrainians to form a negative image of refugees.
Such information attacks harm both Ukrainians in Europe and the internal stability of European countries.
