Fake “letter” from the State Forestry Agency about “transferring forests to allies”
A fake “document” allegedly from the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine is circulating online. It claims to discuss the “conservation of natural resources with subsequent transfer to allies to pay for military assistance.” The Center has verified this information and reports that such a document does not exist — it is completely fabricated by russia.
▫️ The “document” is not registered with the Document Management Department of the Cabinet of Ministers, as required by standard procedures. The “letter” contains gross spelling mistakes, inconsistent business style, improper formatting, and a signatory without the proper authority. Furthermore, the names of territorial units do not correspond to the actual names of the State Forest Agency’s structural divisions.
Such fakes are part of russia’s information-psychological operations aimed at undermining trust in Ukrainian state institutions and allies. The primary goal is to spread panic among citizens and create a false narrative about an alleged “sale of state resources in exchange for aid.”
Earlier, the center reported on the spread of a fake “letter” from the Ukrainian Prime Minister about the supposed preparation for the evacuation of ministries and government agencies to western regions of Ukraine.
