Russia continues its hybrid attacks against European countries

russia continues to use hackers as a tool of pressure and destabilization within the EU. According to the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service and the Military Intelligence and Security Service, russian hacker group known as Laundry Bear has stolen confidential data on nearly all employees of the Dutch police.

▫️In addition, russian cyber spies have stolen data from companies that produce high-tech products which russia cannot access due to sanctions. They have also targeted information related to the production and procurement of military equipment by Western European countries — equipment that is being supplied to Ukraine.

Previously, the Center reported  on russia’s cyber interference in the presidential elections in Poland, as well as phishing emails sent to employees of European diplomatic missions. These systematic cyberattacks are part of russia’s large-scale campaign to destabilize European countries. kremlin uses hackers to hinder military aid to Ukraine, undermine democratic foundations, and provoke division and chaos in the EU.
