North Korea’s propaganda: Sin Hong Chol

The CCD continues its series of reports on propaganda in North Korea. Another key figure in North Korean propaganda is Sin Hong Chol, the DPRK Ambassador to russia.

He began his post in moscow in 2021, after previously serving in various diplomatic roles, including at North Korea’s Embassy in China.

◽️ Sin Hong Chol often stresses the importance of the strategic partnership between North Korea and russia, particularly in the face of international politics and sanctions. He has consistently voiced North Korea’s full support for russia’s actions in Ukraine, including putin’s declared annexation of Ukrainian territories. Sin Hong Chol has also criticized U.S. military aid to Ukraine, claiming the war would become a “second Afghanistan” for Washington.

◽️ After North Korea recognized the “independence” of the so-called “dpr” and “lpr,” which led Ukraine to sever diplomatic relations with North Korea, Sin Hong Chol met with representatives of the russian-occupied “dpr” in moscow and handed them documents recognizing their “independence”.
