Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, participated in the “World perception of the russian-Ukrainian war” discussion within the framework of the Book Arsenal festival based on Dmytro Kuleba’s book “War and new horizons”

On June 1, 2024, Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, participated in a discussion on “World perception of the russian-Ukrainian war” based on Dmytro Kuleba’s book “War and new horizons.” The event was part of the Book Arsenal.

Panelists, including media expert Oleksiy Kovzhun, discussed strategies to recognize and combat fakes today, as well as methods to foster critical thinking through literature on World War II. The meeting was moderated by host Vadym Karpiak.

During the discussion, Andriy Kovalenko emphasized a positive trend: the changing attitude of Western politicians toward russia.

“The old world order has been shattered, and some Western politicians are hesitant to acknowledge this. Fortunately, an increasing number of Western leaders are recognizing the need for unconventional decisions. You can’t defeat a terrorist—a hostile country—by playing the ‘good guy.’ Sometimes, you have to take on the role of the ‘bad guy’ to defeat the enemy,” stated Andriy Kovalenko.

He also emphasized that Ukraine consistently introduces new initiatives, such as the Peace Formula, which presents a crucial format for conflict resolution. In the current reality, old approaches prove ineffective, necessitating the development of new strategies, which Ukraine is actively pursuing.
