Why ru-propaganda spreads fakes about “atrocities” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Center records an escalation in russia’s disinformation campaign about alleged “atrocities” by the Ukrainian military.
russian propaganda channels are actively spreading new claims that the Ukrainian military is deliberately targeting civilians, along with a drone video that supposedly supports these accusations.
▪️ However, the video lacks essential context: it does not reveal the circumstances of the attack, the direction of the shelling, or the identities of those involved. It fails to clarify who was in the combat zone and why.
Previously, the Center has reported on how russian propaganda exploits civilians in frontline areas to discredit the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Through such disinformation, russian propaganda aims to portray its occupying forces as “saviors” of Donbas civilians, deflecting attention from the numerous documented crimes committed by russian troops.
‼️ Confirmed reports include russian soldiers shooting at a civilian car in Selydove and russian drones reportedly “hunting” civilians in Kherson.
