Faces of russian propaganda in the TOT

The Center for Countering Disinformation launches a series of publications on key figures behind anti-Ukrainian propaganda in russia-occupied territories.

▫️ For years, the kremlin has regarded the information component of its war against Ukraine as equally crucial as its military operations. While russia’s army seizes land, its propaganda seeks to “occupy” people’s minds, bolstering efforts to hold these territories.

▫️ The kremlin pours significant resources into propaganda, deploying experienced moscow-based managers to control the media landscape in occupied areas—from major TV and radio channels to local newspapers and blogs.

In this new project, we’ll spotlight the kremlin’s supervisors and ground-level operatives of russian propaganda in occupied territories, featuring both new players and long-standing media operatives who aided russia’s 2014 takeover of Ukrainian lands.
